Re: “Speaking of De, De, HOW are you really doing with recovery big guy? Am always concerned about you....”
Better than most here, I suspect. I'm certainly in less pain than several, including you. My chest is a bit tight, and certain arm motions are uncomfortable (if my right arm reaches to the left while the left reaches to the right, for instance), but at least the chest isn't a joint. It doesn't have much ongoing motion. Those of you with knee and back issues have a lot more to deal with!

Three weeks after the surgery, I developed a weird breathing spasm that stayed with me for a couple of months. My surgeon told me that my Phrenic Nerve was apparently irritated. If the damage is bad, the chest can be paralyzed leaving the victim unable to breathe! But after a few months, the problem departed almost as quickly as it arose.

I've been pretty active for a while now. The last two days, I did two runs to Property #2 with the flatbed trailer. There was quite a bit of loading and unloading. Not fun, but it wasn't too different from my pre-surgery days. Piece of cake! If I cut myself (as I did yesterday when I nicked a scab on my leg) I bleed like anything, but that's an avoidable and rare event.

So, life is good - truly, getting better all the time. Thanks for asking.
