Three weeks ago, six of eleven cherry pits I planted had sprouted. Today, four survive. That's a 36% success rate... and I'm pretty happy with it. Another 80 pits are are in the works, so if the success rate continues like that, I'll end up with more than 30 trees. Not bad for a single bag of store-bought cherries.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

My cherry trees have begun to sprout! The approach that I'm using accelerates their growth. Many of the YouTube videos say to wait 70 days. It's only been a month, maybe less, since I cracked the pits.

Of the initial batch of 11, six have sprouted in the last two days. That's a really good germination rate and I'm sure I'll get a few more. I was thinking that I might get one sapling from every five attempts. It could still turn out that way. The plants could die or be malformed.

Yesterday I started another eighty. They're in the fridge right now.
