August 28, 2020 - Today, we received the list of 60-day WARN notices issued to 506 of our members by Boeing for layoff on Oct. 30th. 164 of them were reWARNs (meaning the member was already holding a WARN notice, effectively extending their layoff date to October 30th). Click here to view the updated WARN list from 082820. (NOTE: We have this notice posted on the 751 website as well. You may not be able to view the documents inside the Boeing intranet, but they should display on cell phones or outside the Boeing firewall. We continue to work to resolve these technical glitches).
As our membership continues to be negatively impacted by the global pandemic, we will continue to offer resources to those experiencing layoff. We understand the stress that these notices bring for all and encourage any members holding a WARN notice to download our Facing Layoff Booklet that contains information and links on: how to file your recall rights, training options, free online college info, how to active 6 months contractual medical benefits after layoff, applying for UI, WorkSource info, Union dues info, job search and more.
We also encourage anyone holding a WARN notice to attend an IAM Rapid Response Live Webinar and register early as the sessions fill up quickly as layoff dates get closer. This webinar includes representatives from WorkSource and Unemployment insurance to answer your questions. Members can participate in this live webinar during work hours, as Boeing provides those holding a WARN notice 5 hours to learn about available resources and participate in these activities.
