Had the same issue with my attic exhaust fans, ribit. After about two or three years of use, the motors on mine gave out. Had the motors replaced and they lasted another three or four years. I had my electrician come out and take a look, and he said the motors were Chinese-made crap and too small to do the job properly. He was able to find some new fans with better-made, bigger motors that would still fit into the existing opening. They've been running for years and years and years, now, without any problems. I guess the moral of the story is to shell out a few more bucks for top-notch fans when you have them replaced. I should have had my electrician buy and install the fans, rather than leave it up to the roofing company. Live and learn.
