After years of sticking with Michelin tires, all steel, even sidewalls on my truck, after seeing that was what the drillers on local oil rigs ran, but when in for a servicing, my mechanic spotted deep checking, as they had aged out.. Asking what he saw as a better alternative, he pointed me to Bridgstones, so I've used them since, and they are indeed holding up well. Although we don't seem to be going anywhere lately, maybe local trips instead of the long runs into Canada or the Southwest... In a year or two, maybe...

Earlier Michelins gave me a lot of miles on our cars, but if/when they come due, I'll have to take another look..

They're not actually bullet proof, they're what they call 'run flat' tires. Even if they were shot with a bullet, you can drive on them. Actually, my wife's Mercedes C300 has 'run flat' tires, but they're very expensive and they don't last a long time, 25 to 30 thousand miles is all. On my GMC Terrain, I get 60 thousand miles easy on a set of tires.
