Good morning De!
I am looking at the tale end of this so I might be missing something but with that said, please allow a couple of comments from one who has been similarly situated albeit more than a cople decades ago.
Joey and my youngest daughter share a great in common in academic successes and achievements and as well in being talented artistically. Joey for his musical talents and Amanda for hers as well. She had an operatic sprano voice hatw as developed by the chair of the Music Depratment and Choir director of the University she atteneded as well as starred in High School in Show Choirs Dance and performance team and national competitions. She was captain of the Cheerleading squads, Class President, Homecoming and Prom Queen and lik Joey, academicaly briliant with the same GPA and a 34 on her ACT.
We turned down offers to Yale and Harvard both because we did not want the radical lefty influence from those well establed bastions of Far left America last so called universities.
UVA was one of her choices t go to undergrad school. It is a an excellent academic school. Top tier.
SO, are you duscussung post graduate Colleges for advanced degrees for Joey?
If so I would not lose any sleep over either Yale or Harvard.
There are LOTS of outstanding uiversities that would be delighted to have Joey... WHAT does he want to study after his undergraduate diploma ???
That would be what the criteria should be based on and consider where to obtain those studies at.
MIT might be an excellent choice for a mind like his.
Anyway, I am late to the conversation but I would be swelled in the chest with a child who is as accomplished as that young man. And you and his Mother have every reason and right to be proud of him and encourage him to succeed at whatever he wants to do and be happy at.
My daughter earns four times what I did and enjoys what she does as the go to attorney for all things medical in the state of Virginia. That is why the largest services company in the U.S. wanted her as thier corporate attorney for all the legal things they run into daily.
You have to be happy at wht you do then you will do it with enthusiasm and look forward to each day then work will not seem like work...
That is how I approached things and my daughters both adopted that method.
Your son will be a success no matter where he ultimately goes and that plae wil be glad to have him.
You done good my frined..
