Trump just offered a bribe to the American voters, "If I'm victorious on November 3rd, I plan to forgive these taxes and make permanent cuts to the payroll tax,"
Trump made this statement after announcing that he was signing an executive order temporarily postponing the collection of payroll taxes that cover contributions to Social Security and Medicare. However, these taxes would have to be made-up at some future date so as to assure that these programs remain funded. But if what Trump says is accurate, he appears to be willing to financially undermine the future of both Social Security and Medicare all so that he can stay in office another four years. Of course, this could be nothing more than so much political crap since there's no precedent for a president being able to control what taxes are collected or not.
