In ordinary circumstances, ammonium nitrate is fertilizer. But when placed under stress of heat and pressure, it acts like a bomb.

I can understand innocently storing a lot of ammonium nitrate (but why in a city???). I can understand an accidental warehouse fire. What really has me scratching my head is, how did the ammonium nitrate get mixed with fuel oil in order to make it explosive???
