I can understand innocently storing a lot of ammonium nitrate (but why in a city???). I can understand an accidental warehouse fire. What really has me scratching my head is, how did the ammonium nitrate get mixed with fuel oil in order to make it explosive???

THAT I do not know, micro. I do not know what triggered the explosion. It could have been improper storage, or it could have been intentional. A lot of Lebanon is controlled by Hezbollah, so your guess is as good as mine.
