Re: “The massive explosion in Beirut’s port on Tuesday shattered windows more than a mile away”
That statement seems to minimize the size of the blast, in my opinion.

In 1973, my house's windows were blown in by the first of hundreds of 500 pound bombs that exploded in Antelope, California. A munitions train in the railroad yard had caught fire. I lived a little over 1 mile away. The bombs that went off that day were strong, but not THAT strong. I mean, my family stood in the front yard watching as bomb after bomb after bomb exploded. We stayed there for hours, only leaving when we were ordered to do so in the early afternoon. We later learned that shrapnel was falling on our street.

A grocery store, "Farmer's Market" a mile up the road lost its windows too, but they were huge windows... probably more vulnerable to that sort of thing. The store was at least two miles from the explosions.

To read that the blast in Beirut shattered windows a mile away makes me think that maybe the explosion wasn't nearly as big as it looked. From those videos though, I think it was huge. My guess is that windows FIVE miles away were shattered by that thing's shockwave.

...a remarkably accurate article especially considering that it is from the NY Times. Of course we won't know what really happened til we hear from alex jones.
