On this board, this is the final comment I am going to make. I already removed my prior posts.
You make this statement:

from which one source is God"

One source of truth is God? Maybe you could explain any other sources of where truth and righteousness came from?

The BIBLE and Christ HIMSELF declared that "Truth and righteousness came by Jesus Christ": and also that " GOD is Truth". This is the standard.

I did not read anywhere else between the pages of any other source that truth came any other way.

So, to me, there is no other source of truth. GOD is the STANDARD which is why NONE of us can ever achieve HIS standard except through Christ.

As this is not a theology classroom I will not spend the next hour or two discussing that.

I am finished. Done.
I will agree to disagree with both you and Ribit. I will leave it at that.

Thank you for your input and yes, you are certainly entitled to your views as much as anyone.

Re: “GOD and Country. Can one separate these two things?”
I absolutely can. It's why we have the delimiter "and" in "God and Country." Moreover, the fact that separation is enforced between Church and State is essential to the American way of life. Jesus, as you'll recall, separated them as well. I'm not one for quotes, but the phrase "Give unto Caesar" strikes home even with me.

Your earlier statement, "His outward appearance in the past of being such a man of faith and hence, integrity and standing for what is right and good, which comes from God, " also bears scrutiny. I have certainly known many religious hypocrites and schemers. I have also known non-Christians, even atheists, with extraordinary integrity, assuming one defines the word to mean people of principle who strive to help others while remaining true to themselves. I guess we have a pretty different view on the role of church when it comes to this. I think, had you said, "...integrity and standing for what is right and good, from which one source is God" we would agree. After all, with some people, these positions are simply inate.
