"Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell bought Virginia Roberts plane tickets to Thailand for her 19th birthday and then asked her to bring back an underage girl per Roberts' depo."
Roberts' exemplifies the process. An alleged victim minor grows up and becomes an enabler, an adult madame.
Is Roberts' herself a victim, a criminal, or both?
They are all going to claim to be victims of Epstein and they will all hope that this exonerates them.
Does it?
I dunno. But it's going to be a mess. The one certain bad actor is dead. And the US DOJ let it happen. Their case against Maxwell, as opposed to the press depiction, is fairly weak. Three cases from the 1990s. Poor memories.
Example of mess. When Roberts says she was asked to bring back an underage girl, does she know the law about the age of consent in Thailand, or is she imputing her understanding of the definition of a minor from her state? Were they breaking laws on Epstein's island, beyond US jurisdiction? I don't know.
It's undoubtedly repellant, along the lines of Roy Moore. The alleged victims are young, as was Trayvon Martin. But what is the law? And who is in breach of it?
