...why don't we just raise taxes? Isn't that the dem solution for every other problem?

The studies that claimed HCQ was ineffective all had MAJOR flaws in them. These included:

• Not including zinc and azithromycin with HCQ. Zinc, in particular, is essential to making HCQ work.

• Giving a massive overdose of HCQ to patients. Yeah, it's possible to cause harm. It's also possible to cause harm with aspirin. And with water. And with oxygen.

• Not doing a double-blind study. So there was no telling whether the patients who died did so when they'd been given HCQ early... or when they were already at death's door. (Many doctors who were losing patients were prescribing HCQ at the very end, as a last resort.)

• Failing to giving HCQ early. HCQ kills viruses. It does NOT reverse any organ damage the virus may have already caused. So the studies that say "results from hospitalized patients proved the drug to be useless" are themselves useless. Once patients have been admitted, it's too late for hydroxychloroquine.

• The Lancet medical journal, of course, referenced a HCQ-bashing study that was flat-out fraudulent. Entirely and obviously fake. The journal employed criminal negligence, imo. It caused people to die.

It makes me ill that the media has piled on to bashing what is by far the most effective early treatment for the disease. HCQ is not even as dangerous as aspirin - except for patients who have heart arrhythmia in which case it is somewhat more dangerous than aspirin but still probably worth taking if you really think you've got COVID-19.
