The truth is very often perceived as harsh because it has a strong tendency to lay waste to cherished, well nurtured misconceptions we have about ourselves. Obviously, this does not hold true for each and every person, but culturally ... especially for the past five to six decades when government inserted itself as their self-appointed nanny ... the American black community does not esteem personal responsibility and hard work. So, since the undeniable truth is that they are directly to blame for their own lack of achievement, they and their enablers desperately attempt to deflect away from the truth and disingenuously blame others so they can manufacture some plausible deniability to ignore the painful reality of their lives.

The essential American soul is hard, isolate, stoic, and a killer. It has never yet melted. ~ D.H. Lawrence
