Interesting.

China has been doing bad stuff recently, so I understand that the US might wish to respond.

They wouldn't have dared behave the way they have if there was a normal administration. I suspect they are grabbing what they can before the election.

BREAKING: The U.S. ordered China to shut its consulate in Houston - Beijing is already threatening to retaliate.
In the latest sign of deteriorating relations between the two nations, the U.S. has ordered China to shut its consulate in Houston, Texas. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged the U.S. to reconsider or face "legitimate and necessary reactions."

State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said the U.S. was acting to "protect American intellectual property and American's private information."
