Georgia Democrats on Monday chose Nikema Williams, a state senator and chairwoman of the state party, to replace the late congressman John Lewis (D) on the November ballot.

...getting arrested at a sit in at the state capital is a plus on ya resume! She probably in the top three to be biden vp nominee.

Democrats name 5 finalists to replace John Lewis in November election

The Democratic Party of Georgia has released the names of the five finalists who are in the running to replace Rep. John Lewis on the November ballot, after the longtime congressmanâ€™s death last week.

On Monday morning, the Party says it has narrowed down the candidates to state Rep. Park Cannon, Atlanta City Councilman Andre Dickens, former Morehouse President Robert Franklin, state Sen. Nikema Williams, and Georgia NAACP President James "Major" Woodall.
