There is a thin fine line between law enforcement and suppression/oppression of citizens/people. The argument is “law and order”, similar to beating your kid up every time you don’t like something or it is crying about something. It is the line between good parenting and the kind of patenting your kid will never forget and hate you for it. The kind of parenting that can create another intolerant, fascist, hateful person, like some we all know.
America has never experienced authoritarian, fascist doings. The race riots of the sixties were about ... “negros”, so they were discounted, and so were the Vietnam war killings of students, thought of kids who did drugs and didn’t care about civil order. They were ...tuned out. But, those were warning signs, because authoritarian thugery was just waiting its chance, and has been hiding under many faces/excuses. The appointment of Bush as president in 2000 was a salvo that said, you got the court to do your dirty job, you can do your dirty job. And, since then, it’s all been dirt and little else. We have that bitch Gingrich to thank for it, as he manipulated the stupid to breed more stupid, and here we are. Thomas was a warning, too, then Alito, two guys who should be in ....accounting. It never ends, really. The marks are everywhere.
