That happened long enough ago that I'd expect it to show in the numbers already.

Where I am, pubs have opened outdoors, but not in. People can make their minds up if they wish to take the risk. There aren't so many people with the virus to multiply the numbers from there very fast. If you get a local outbreak, you can lock things down easily enough.

My concern is if you ask people to cram onto tubes, trains and buses to go to work, why on earth do you do that prior to issuing a mask ordinance? In those environments, you really could multiply fast and the virus will transport itself all over the place.

500 daily new cases becomes 1,000, and 1,000 becomes 2,000 before you know what hit you. And it takes forever to go down.

If you open from a low base, do everything to keep the base low.

Opening the pubs was a mistake.

It's only a matter of time. (weeks)
