Small world. The tar baby used to be my best imaginary friend.

The book to the left and 'The Little Engine That Could' are the only two Little Golden Books I remember owning when I was in the Philippines (ages 1 to 3)

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

The stories were compiled by Joel Chandler Harris who grew up on a plantation and heard them from a slave called Uncle Bob Capers.

I lived in West End (atlanta) and the Wren's Nest was part of growing up. It was the home of JC Harris. I went to JC Harris Grammar school. Uncle Remus was one of my first literary heroes. Robert E. Lee was another. I never tried to resolve the dichotomy of that. I will never forget Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear and Brer Fox.
