Yesterday Miz micro an me drove across the circle outer belt interstate toa point directly north of Cincinnati by about 23 miles. At that exit there is a large Tile Store.. An Upscale have everything of first tier quality tiles place.
When you get cases of tile from them you don;t worry about cracks or chipping in the box. Or if they will have this same tile next year muchless next month like some large box stores with a big Orange square or a Blue emblem I know..
They get and sell closeouts mostly.
Anywho, mizmicro wants to put in a walk in shower in the Master bath and redo the flooring and of course have me re-paint the walls.
I won't complain too loudly as she is content for the momnent at what she selected for tile for the shower that will run from the shower base to about 7 feet high on three walls. She then selected what she wanted on the floor.
We asked the manager to kindly add the outside finish tiles with bullnose edges to the order for the outside border.
We added some corbner shelves and the grout. Theywill go ahead and order this in so it is ready for the tile installer when he comes in September.
So she totaled up the damage as I had not seen any pricing on the tiles. The bill was in excess of 2 grand.. I told the clerk I did notw ant gold wall tile.
She did not have much of a sense of humor... I sure hope miz micro likes this when it is eventually finished.
I still need to procure the sliding shower doors from the Glass Company who wil aslo professionally make them and install them so they are fit properly and sealed properly.. Have no idea what that will cost either much less the labor for the remodeler t remove the old shwer and tub, do the plumbing for the new setup, replace green board with cement board on walls and floor, install the new water fixtures and base, and tile up all the walls.
It is the last of the three major projects for this year though. The Back yard was fenced Monday. Now the dog can go run outdoors and stay out without me.. The new outdor utility shed is very large and tall and is spacious inside. I have plenty of room inside for all our things and my lawn tractor and power mowers. The yard was leveled before the fencing was done with 30 yards of topsoil spread and seeded. No more ponds when it rains..
All in all, a good season with this last thing to go.
I had no idea that wall tiles for a bathroom shower could end up so costly by themselves.. I had a bit of sticker shock...
