But I think it's a mistake to erect monuments to those who are still alive. Their legacy is still unfolding, and there's no telling what they might yet do to screw things up. Charles Lindbergh, for instance, would have surely qualified - if he had just died or gone away after crossing the Atlantic. Instead, he got political and became a big fan of Adolph Hitler. Whoops.

I have a prioblem with the rather lengthy list of "cultural heroes" That list starts getting a little long winded and then, not all those folks belong there...

In the Military heores whty is General Omar Bradley missing?

He was in charge of the American armies in Europe for world war 2 beginning at D-Day. PAtton worked for him.
George Washington Carver is not on this list anywhere.

Anyone from the Red Tails of Tuskegee University on this list? Those men were amazing and one of the sole reasons our Allied Bombers were able to make it over Germany and back with the air support protection against the Messerschmitts.

Thisis tgheproblemwithone persons opinion abot who should go into something like this because they are always a little short on the history...
