"It's been terrible," Trump continued. "So many lives have been lost. We'll never forget those incredible people but they will not have died in vain. Our country will go on, and we're going to be stronger than ever before."
Trump is making it sound like these 120,000 Americans (so far) were soldiers or marines, who stormed some beach somewhere and defeated a heavily armed enemy and now the country can thank them for their brave sacrifice as the rest of us start to rebuild the economy from the ashes of the war in which they died. I guess you can't expect the history books to consider you a 'war president' without a body count.
