Trump is claiming that EVERY conversation that he has ever had with anyone, since he was elected President, should be considered as classified and therefore anyone who discloses any of these conversations has basically committed treason. He has asked that AG Barr keep that in mind when he looks into what John Bolton has written in his book.

Note that Bolton's lawyer says that the book has already been reviewed by the White House security people and all confidential material has already been removed. However, Trump is now making the case that something does not have to be officially declared confidential, just as long as it was something that he said then it's automatically confidential and therefore must be considered as being classified.
