Interesting battle.
Corrupt DOJ, which let its culprit die in jail, which gases peaceful protestors, and which is trying to clear guilty-as-sin Flynn, claims justice pulpit in battle with Prince Andrew, but breaches confidentiality while doing so.
Ain't going to end well.
DOJ peeps are doing the US self-righteous bully routine. But the pulpit is gone. And everyone knows how justice works in the US now.
If Andrew is charged with nothing, and you want information, be polite and be discreet. He's not in custody. He is in a sovereign country not within US jurisdiction. He may be a useful witness. Seeking to impose US law in the UK, and bullying via the media will backfire in the UK. Andrew may not be much loved, but unless he is charged with something, treat him as if he is innocent and worthy of respect.
Whatever powers the US thinks it has by treaty, know that we will interpret it at our end how we wish. Breach our ideas of even-handed justice and any obligations at our end will be disregarded.
Maybe the US justice system should learn to treat black Americans with respect, as well. Just a thought, given the US authoritarian culture is so clearly broken. Change it from the top.
