Cotton wrote the brutallist screed in the NYT that was pulled because it misstated the constitutional powers of the president.
So he is the sort of person Trump would want.
And the sort of person who will make the divisions potentially violent.
As I have said for some time, the path that the Bananarepublicans are on makes a peaceful division of the country increasingly attractive. Let liberals be pragmatic and conservatives be ideological. Being united isn't working. The only cure for the bananas is for them to experience the polluted, violent mad max anarchy they want for themselves, and to make as big a barrier as possible to prevent the result leaking out.
