Sorry . . .
Somehow I thought I had posted about it.
I'm sure I posted that around the end of the year they
had offered a 'buy out' package . . And I applied for
it and got turned down. And now we are working
extremely shorthanded.

I think it was Monday afternoon (and I was on overtime
for the meeting) they assembled us and told all of us
(that was there) that our production was being moved to
Richmond VA and that our production facility was being
shut down July 26.

I am ready to retire.

And they told us there would be severance packages (for
those who are eligible and I am certain I am) and that
we would be paid for accrued vacation time. Also that
after the severance package runs out we will be eligible
for un-employment.

I also have the feeling that I will be put on the de-commissioning
crew. . . which, if I am right, means I'll be working past
July 26. But I haven't heard of any planning along those
lines. Yet.

Zim.

Congratulations! I'm surprised you didn't mention that sooner. I started my retirement countdown when I had 55 months to go! To make it a little less obvious that I was counting down, when I got to 32 months, I put up a printout of the Shell "Mr. President" game's scorecard and checked off another President as each month went by. Seemed to take FOREVER... especially when I got to Grover Cleveland - who was President twice, non-consecutively, and is only represented on the game card once.
