I think the DOW will contine to rise. Gradually, not on big huge wild days. As businesses get back to work confidence will once again come back and I think that the probability of being a whole lot less dependent on China will factr into that.
As for the virus, it will alway be with us from now on but not horribly. Justthink about the various actual MEDICINES to treat this strain that have been effective with more being developed. I think that virus will not be a huge factor in the long haul at all. No different than the annual Flu season.. Onlly we now know a couple of things that work well against it and more close to being tested and then approved as well.

I don;t see things as bleakly as you, but that is how it should be.... TOO boring if everyone spaoke and said the same things, like the FART board as an example... They speak in unison and should form a choir.... They're all idiots and add alea to that mix as well.

On March 12th, I posted that I'd moved 20% of my bond funds into stock funds. Just 20%, but it was a good chunk of my money. On March 23rd, I posted that I'd made a big mistake. I think I was down about 15% at that point... a painful eleven day plummet. But you don't really lose [or win] until you sell, right? And all's well that ends well.

Today, I exited the stock funds, putting the money back into bond funds. I made just about exactly 20% in 2½ months. What a WILD ride.

At this point, I think there's little chance that the Dow will rise much more. After all that's happened, it's only down 4,000 points? That's nuts. I think the long-term economic implications of the shutdown and turmoil from our shattered relationship with China (a good thing in the long run, imo) will soon manifest themselves. And let's not forget the virus. I don't think it's had its final say. Not by a long shot.
