Trump wants to shut down anyone he perceives as disloyal, which is everyone who opposes his nutty ideas.
To the extent he thinks, he supposes the ends justify the means. And so if it isn't this, it will be something else.
The list of Bananarepublican inventions is a long one. He was a birther, remember. And he has doubtless bought into everything on the long list of nonsense that was brought to this space, from Benghazi, through Seth Rich, Uranium One, Clinton e-mails, hydrochloroquine, Tara Reade etc., until I finally had had enough of Fox News whack-a-mole.
