...he reminds me of a guy I went to high school wth. His mama named him Bucky and God provided the kill shot by giving him buck teeth. He was a nerd / geek even nerdier and geekier than most. Somehow it became my job to protect him from the bullies who thought he was "fair game". Even with my super powers I could not have protected him from what would surely have been more "swirlies" than anyone could survive.
...in phys ed we were playing football and since bucky couldn't run, block or catch we always told him to go long on every play. That got him out of the way. Anyhow, I noticed that no one was covering bucky and our team only needed a yard for a touchdown so I told him in the huddle to just step across into the end zone I was gonna toss him the ball. Everybody protested, even bucky but I insisted. The ball was snapped, bucky stepped into the endzone and I tossed him the ball (underhanded). Contrary to all predictions, he caught it and the referee signaled "touchdown".
...for the next three years of high school, every time I saw bucky he would give the touchdown sign.

It made his day, his year and maybe the high spot of his life. I dunno what happened to bucky. I suspect he made a bazillion bucks doing some sort of computer software magic, but in the back of his mind there had to be replays of the only touchdown of his life. His glory years compacted into 10 seconds on a phys ed football field. Good job bucky. Everybody deserves a victory of some kind in their life. The catch was your victory moment. The smile you had on your face when you caught it was mine.

It's going to take a lot to top this story in my mind's eye.
As I said, I will never forget this story. EVER
