I feel awfully sorry for everyone involved. Horrible decisions to make for everyone. The food supply chain is clearly essential. So the company had no choice but to operate. And yet if I remember rightly, there were no masks to be had for love or money when this broke out.

For me, this is very likely going to turn out to be a failure to prepare - not of Tyson Foods, but of the administration. It's the administration that is meant to have resources for this situation. And this administration decided it preferred to give tax cuts for the wealthy. As ever, libertarian ideas fail.

Coronavirus hot spot in Minnesota connected to surge of cases at meatpacking plant
"We are very worried about the pandemic. We want to work, but we have families. We are just human beings who want a better life," one employee said.

A meatpacking plant has a surge of coronavirus cases. And it's spreading to surrounding towns.

Workers and residents in a small Minnesota town are demanding that a meatpacking plant be temporarily closed for cleaning and sanitizing to protect the 1,100 people who work there. They also want coronavirus testing for workers — a request that came after the plant reported that cases more than doubled from May 8 to May 11.

But now, St. Cloud, a neighboring small town northwest of Minneapolis, is experiencing a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases, according to documents obtained by NBC News, probably because of the meatpacking plant itself.
