You may be right. I don't know so much about the benefits and costs of things and people making them versus the benefits and costs of services and using robots to make things from an economic viewpoint. Too many moving parts for my wee brain to contemplate!

I am worried by gross inequality, so would fix that through government. But I am not any less worried by demands for equality, which is just as noxious. But an upper bound for income that is 50 times the lower bound looks as unequal as anyone could reasonably argue for. Not sure why any society wants some people to have so much and others so little.

I've always believed in order to be a great nation your people need to make/build things.

The USA depends on people buying stuff.
That's an economy destined for failure.

We need to get back to manufacturing, and unions for the employees, offering them a piece of the pie.
Having employees vested, will create a loyal & strong economy.
