Mostly things I already own some of. And things I think
will do 'OK' for decades to come.

Dominion Resources - folks will always need electricity.

McCormick Spices ( MKC ) We like to eat and good spices make food better.
McCormick has been going up nicely the last few years.

I also like to invest for the dividends. A company which likes
to increase the dividend annually at a healthy clip is nice to
own - another reason I'm bullish on McCormick. (The dividend
yield is pathetic - but the rate at which they usually increase
it looks to be averaging 9% or so.)

My goal is to have enough income from the dividends to retire
very comfortably on - with the bonus that the checks will get
bigger faster than inflation.

Zim.

Well Zim, now looks like a great time to buy (and hold) some of those stocks you always wished you owned. Just like the opportunity of 2008-2009.

What are you looking at long term? I like MA, they got approval to enter China recently. VZ will always be a money maker; I like it, too.
