If there's ever a decision to be taken, it is guaranteed they will take the wrong one. Tossing a coin yields better outcomes.

The key drawback of a decision to restart too early: that will damage the economy, not help it. And it will kill many people unnecessarily as well.

The optimal economic path is to be as strict about identifying and quarantining the disease as possible so that the pandemic stops as fast as it can be stopped, to soften the economic damage while the disease is rampant, and then restart only once you know how to keep the virus under control.

China showed one way to do this.

Yep.

Fox News is promoting it.

The federal government is seeking to minimise the damage.

Trouble is, the virus doesn't care. Provide the vehicle and it will keep on killing. Overwhelm the health system and it will kill a multiple of the number killed when everyone is on lockdown.

For the virus, we are fuel.

Actually, same thing for Fox News. It's a money sausage factory, in which people's lives are the input.

Thing is, the elderly watch Fox and vote Banana and they are the ones most at risk. Darwin awaits.
