So my guess is the promotion of this drug is about the election and Trump's unfillable need for praise.

It was someone else's idea. He heard about it. Tried to make it his own so he could get credit if it worked out.

He'll do the same for any successes. And he'll find someone to blame for all the failures.

That's all you get from Trump. There's nothing but moths in that noggin.

is looking like a proxy for Trump's attempt to restart the economy regardless of medical advice and the threat of contagion. "Here's this magic orange pill..."

Now folks are saying Fauci is being made to say nothing because contradiction of Trump is considered a worse threat than the risk of prescribing an unproved drug. Or put another way, the political people are artfully muzzling the health people.

This is why presidents should shut up when it comes to medicine. Let the guy in charge of this specialist field speak. The only person worth listening to in this administration on this topic is Dr Fauci.

If you need a president, here's one to listen to: Patrice Harris, president of the American Medical Association.

"I would not prescribe it. You could lose your life. It’s unproven."
