That is excellent news. It's exponential growth that overwhelms the health system.
By the way, ICU admissions looks like a decent measure of the progress of the virus. People with serious issues go to hospital. So although this only tells you about a small proportion of those with the virus, assuming the infection rate and the numbers affected by a poor immune response are stable (both probable), you can get a sense of growth of the contagion from this number.
Whereas the active cases number is fairly useless (too many variables for comparative purposes, and insufficient coverage for absolute numbers). It would be more useful to have population samples from which to extrapolate the numbers in any particular territory. I am guessing governments have those figures but aren't sharing them.
