We are doomed to a recession, if we allow a definition of a recession as a single quarter. Depending on how long isolation continues, we will doubtless have a truncated economy for some time.
This is Trump's bad luck. His idiocy was not to pivot into the role of heroic medical responder-in-chief, which would have made him an easy winner of the election regardless of the economy. Thank goodness he didn't see the opportunity. And now it's too late. The governors are the heroes.
