In the absence of progress, you get continuation of the stock market collapse.

In those circumstances, Trump, for whom the stock market is his measure of performance, pressures McConnell to fold. Pelosi's deal is adopted.

What an idiot the toxic turtle is to think he holds the cards here. He tried to bully Pelosi and produced an utterly useless package containing a massive Bananarepublican corporate slush fund overseen by the Trump administration, an inadequate package for hospitals and far, far too little for individuals who live(d) paycheck to paycheck.

That's just laughable.

Whatever they propose, it's going to need bipartisan oversight and disclosure. This isn't a programme for the benefit of Trump's hotels and golf courses. No one is going to trust an impeached president who misused money for Ukraine for his own benefit.
