This is really crazy, they should allow vote-by-mail without any excuses in every state, period...

I sometimes praise your relative intelligence - which only means that you're the "Moe" of your little gang. Vote-by-mail is much less secure. Your ballot can be stolen. Your ballot can get lost. A relative can complete and mail it, or someone else can prevent the registered voter from voting as he wishes - perhaps via intimidation. The registered voter may be illiterate or mentally incapacitated but get coached by someone who isn't. If the voter has a question, nobody trained will be there to answer it. And vote-by-mail allows the citizen to cast his vote prematurely, possibly resulting in voting when all the facts aren't yet in and presumably leaving the voter with regrets - such as were experienced by a certain numskull from California who frequents the Pffart3 board and who did exactly what I've described, whining when his candidate dropped out prior to election day.

There you go: A whole bunch of reasons. And you couldn't come up with even one?

Maybe incompetent people shouldn't be voting, OCU.
