I really don't believe the quoted numbers any more. Other than hospitalised patients and deaths. I wouldn't be surprised if between ten and fifty times more people have it.
Over here, they have clearly stopped counting. The emergency services have no interest unless the situation is life threatening. Merely having a fever doesn't get you more than a cursory call.
Two members of my family, wholly separately, have now contracted it or something like it. Both travelled on planes, one to Switzerland, the other to America. No tests. No confirmation. Self-quarantine. Bed rest.
It's Russian roulette. But given the likelihood that the disease is far more widespread than reported, I think that means it is less deadly than it looks. The denominator is much larger.
Italy looks as deadly as it does because they simply aren't counting the numbers who have it properly.
