There are probably license plate scanners at every airport, major hotel, large shopping mall, toll booth, parking structure in the country, and if not, there will be shortly. The courts have ruled that tracking license plates does not violate the Constitution's 4th Amendment. After all, they are right there in plain sight, for EVERYONE to see. Now knowing a persons license plate alone does not constitute probable cause, which is still needed before you can stop someone.
First, this license plate scanning stuff that I did not know existed. What is going on with citizen surveillance in this country? Are we all being treated as potential criminals, our every move monitored?
Then, that story with cops shooting at everything they could in a rush hour stopped at traffic light situation. Is this what happens when you give guns to mental midgets and the authority to shoot? Innocent people died that day because of many schmucks in a uniform.
