Someone who plans to go into sheriffing in S Florida told me they want degrees beyond high school to hire you. They finally got it that critical thinking is essential in a cop on the street.
Beyond that, I don’t think they should be involved in enforcing school rules. That’s for teachers and principals to do. Cops and kids are like oil and water. You don’t need cops to enforce school rules. I would sue that sumbitch for threatening my kid in such a way. He’d have to deal with ME! That fker should have stayed out of the situation. His job is to look out for threats and deal with them. And the school bitch should have told the kid, he’d be dealt with later if he wanted to leave, if necessary, based on the facts.
I also don’t think teachers should have guns in the classroom. Schools should have cops who have demonstrated the ability to do the right thing in situations, watching out for threats against teachers and kids, and NOTHING ELSE! NOTHING ELSE.
Furthermore, if a kid wants to leave school, who’s to say no? Deal with it afterwards at the principal’s office. That’s how schools should work. Preventing a kid from leaving school is in my view illegal.
When you carry a gun with you out there, you enter a world of caution and responsibility you never knew existed, if you are a thinking person, otherwise you are another asshole out there.
Reason in this country has gone further out the window. It is always based on “agendas”, and nothing else.
