I agree that they are also problems and they ought to be easier fixes.

But I fear a party that is willing to do those sorts of things is so culturally corrupt that actually it is a replacement of that party (or its slow evolution) that is required. And that isn't an easy thing either.

You need the whole corrupt party information ecosystem to change. Maybe when Murdoch dies, and Trump, and McConnell, and people like Limbaugh and Hannity. It's going to take a long time.

Gerrymanding & Citizens United have made this problem worse.

Those are easier fixes, to start with.
