Lamar Alexander

A name that will live in infamy.

He says he will vote for the corruption of the US political process.

Sad to watch the failure of a constitution and the end of democracy in the US. One side, controlling the process, deemed election cheating okay. And so the result of future US elections will be meaningless. The senate is no trustworthy safeguard. Nice try, framers!

Also a sad, same-day contrast with Brexit. A constitutional monarch makes a presidential claim of absolute power impossible. That's why we keep them. They clarify the difference between the current administration and the nation. Legislators, the military and the courts swear obedience to the crown. The Queen is no Mitch McConnell. Her base is everyone. Her role is non-political. At the end of the day, everyone accepts her judgement because it is non-partisan. This is why it's useful.

Thank god our rickety, old system muddled through. The referendum stands.

I suggest all sorts of countries might wish to buy the next US election.

The Chinese are rich. They might want to purchase both the presidency and the senate. That way, they are guaranteed to get the great treaty they wish for.

In America, everything is for sale.

Impeachment is a high bar!
