A parishioner at our church is mounting a run for the seat of Ms. Porter. Several years ago he ran for a seat in the state legislator and lost. I had a lot of problems with his campaign since he used an email list from the church to send out donation requests. I expressed my concern and was told that they felt that there was no problem. However, several other people also expressed concern and we were finally told that it wouldn't happen again. Anyway, we'll see.

Note that while he's a nice guy and all, he's a bit self-righteous (he's an attorney) and since I feel the Ms. Porter is doing a great job, I won't be voting for him, if he makes it past the primary. I didn't vote for him the last time either.

Great news, she's a dynamo.

@RepKatiePorter
I’m excited to announce that I’ve been assigned a seat on the
@OversightDems
Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy.

The fight for accountability on behalf of working families continues, and I stand ready to do the tough oversight required to keep bad actors in check.
