Re: "And, oh my gawd De, Your state is gray . . ."
Sad but true. However, my sister played a key role in changing what "forced unionism" means when she and another fellow refused to pay union dues in Sacramento, were nearly fired (the other fellow WAS fired), and they resisted in court, defended, believe it or not, by ACLU lawyers out of Washington D.C. They won the case, making national headlines and it evolved years later into the Supreme Court decision described below.

So, while New Hampshire may be a "forced unionism" state, the "force" has been stripped nationwide, largely due to my family.

However, thanks to a 2018 U.S. Supreme Court decision, workers in unionized public agencies who do not wish to join the union cannot be compelled to pay union fees—such as fees for collective bargaining—as a condition of employment.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Can anybody tell me why I should support a 'forced
unionism' state?
