I think we are going to find that it is misleading and inflammatory to suggest that a majority of the SCOTUS believes political corruption is not necessarily a crime.

I might argue that the majority of the justices on SCOTUS believe a bunch of nutty and/or religious and/or historically inaccurate things, but I wouldn't bother to argue a premise that they are soft on corruption.

For sure I would wait until they rule on a matter before presuming such a motive. The Daily Beast should know we are not Trump supporters, whose outrage is always ripe for manipulation so long as a media organisation wants to sell its ink. And I am not planning to become like them.

Supreme Court Sounds Ready to Let Criminals Walk at Bridgegate Hearing
BAD NEWS FOR GOOD GOV’T
Political corruption is not necessarily a crime, a majority of the Court suggested today.

Updated Jan. 14, 2020

The 2013 “Bridgegate” scandal, in which appointees of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie closed two lanes of the George Washington Bridge entry ramp to exact revenge against a political opponent, may now seem rather quaint in comparison with a presidential impeachment, eight Trump associates convicted of crimes, and Russia’s interference in the 2016 and 2020 elections.

But the case argued today at the Supreme Court could have far-reaching consequences for how corrupt politicians–including those in the Trump administration–are held accountable for their actions.
