Now only the Lords and the Queen to go.

The will of the people has prevailed. But only after removing the least honorable parliament and speaker (in the UK parliament, a neutral arbiter of process) I have ever witnessed.

The point is not that we are leaving the EU. It is that we honour the results of referenda, even if they are not what we wish them to be.

I wasn't altogether passionate either way when the referendum occurred. I could imagine various paths forward, even if one of them was not continuing with what had become an imperial project. But the response of the EU and the Remainers to the result was just appalling. And that meant that thereafter, like others, I wanted to leave at any cost.

Now, I hope they manage to negotiate a constructive deal that gives folks on both sides parts of what they want, without conceding the control of UK sovereignty which the EU was demanding.
