GARNERVILLE, NY — The New York City cop who spent time while in Nashville for a bachelor party terrorizing a black family next door to his Airbnb has quit. An NYPD spokeswoman said Thursday that Michael J. Reynolds resigned after being told Dec. 30 to report Jan. 2 for the beginning of a disciplinary process.
He will not receive benefits or pension, Acting Deputy Commissioner for Public Information Devora Kaye said in a statement.
Reynolds broke into Conese Halliburton's house in July 2018, screamed racist slurs at her and her sons and threatened to hurt them. She called 911. Nashville cops removed him and the next day he blamed the booze. He was arrested more than a month later as a neighbor's surveillance video went viral, public outrage swelled and the story went national.
In September, Reynolds, 26, pleaded no contest to one count of aggravated criminal trespassing and three counts of assault. Sentenced Dec. 6, he got two weeks in jail and three years probation, the Tennessean reported.
