I am not opposed to having designated trained people in churches, these days, for protection. We can’t ignore the times. OTOH, watching that video turned my stomach seeing 3 such “trained” people walking down the aisle and around, with guns pointed toward bystanders as they were moving towards where the shooter had fallen. You don’t hold and point a gun at anything but what you are seeing as the target and intend to shoot. Period.

The 4th one who actually shot the shooter, still held his hand pointed at an area where bystanders were as he walked down the aisle where the shooter had fallen. If any of them had their fingers on the triggers, and not on the barrel while walking like that, that would be inexcusable.

As for schools, I think only security personnel should have guns. Trying to do it the cheap way, by letting teachers take things into their own hands is not a proper duty for them. Hire several part time experienced people to do security at schools, and have them get training with close quarters gun fight courses. Just because people own guns and can hit targets in a range, doesn’t make them gun fight able.

Most assaults take place in 3 secs, and you got up to about 20secs before it’s all over.
