Have you ever tried the vinegar mixed with slightly warm water trick? About one part vinegar to 5 or 10 water.
Don't know if it will work at the temps you are experiencing. I sploshed some on my iced-up windows the other day and the change was immediate because vinegar freezes at a much lower temperature.
even with the rear defroster on for the trip to work, 35 minutes, the rear windshield & passenger windows were frozen solid.
I chipped some off, which should help by the time I leave this morning...
